Cummins Accelerator ? We will provide a 100 megawatt (MW) proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis hydrogen production system for BP's green hydrogen project in Lingen, Germany. As BP's largest hydrogen production plant to date, this project will adopt Accelera's advanced HyLYZER technology ? PEM electrolysis of water for hydrogen production technology.
The hydrogen production system powering the BP Lingen project consists of 20 HyLYZERs ?- Composed of 1000 proton exchange membrane electrolysis water hydrogen production units, this is currently the largest electrolysis water hydrogen production system at Accelera. The new electrolysis water hydrogen production equipment factory located in Guadalajara, Spain is currently being produced by Accelerate and is planned to be fully operational by 2027. This 100 MW electrolytic water hydrogen production equipment system is expected to produce up to 11000 tons of green hydrogen annually.
Andreas Lippert, Vice President of Cummins and General Manager of Accelera's Electrolyzed Water Hydrogen Equipment Business, said, "This project is an important milestone for Accelera, as well as for the energy transition in Germany and Europe. Collaborating with industry leaders like BP to develop a 100 MW system project demonstrates our ability to provide innovative industrial scale solutions, help customers achieve decarbonization goals, and promote the sustainable development of the green hydrogen economy
Project highlights
Sustainable production:
Accelerate's 100 MW electrolytic water hydrogen production equipment will be powered by renewable electricity from offshore wind power, ensuring that the final product is green hydrogen.
Regional impact:
The hydrogen produced will not only support the BP Linden Refinery, but also serve industrial users in surrounding areas, such as steel and chemical producers, helping Germany's hydrogen economy develop.
technological innovation
This project will adopt Accelerate's efficient, scalable, and optimized PEM electrolysis hydrogen production technology.
Felipe Arbelaez, Senior Vice President of Hydrogen Energy and Carbon Capture and Storage at BP, said, "The Linden Green Hydrogen project demonstrates how large-scale hydrogen energy plans can generate regional economic benefits, help partners achieve sustainable development goals, and accelerate the transition to low-carbon industrial operations. For over 70 years, the Linden refinery has been providing the energy needed by German industry. Now, we are transforming its role through this project, providing low-carbon hydrogen energy to help our operations and regional industries achieve decarbonization goals

The electrolysis of water for hydrogen production equipment utilizes renewable energy to produce green hydrogen, which is the key to accelerating the transition to clean energy. As a pioneer in the field of large-scale hydrogen production, Accelerate has deployed over 600 sets of electrolysis water hydrogen production equipment worldwide, providing power for many advanced PEM electrolysis water hydrogen production systems worldwide, including a 20 MW electrolysis cell system in Quebec, Canada and a 25 MW electrolysis cell system in Florida, USA.
